Golden Gate Bridge Southbound Traffic Lanes Reduced for Overnight Pothole Repair Work

Nightly Repair Work Scheduled for Monday, August 7 through Friday, August 11 AND Tuesday, August 15

The Golden Gate Bridge will be performing repairs of damaged roadway pavement, located south of the toll plaza, from 9:00PM to 4:00AM nightly, from Monday, August 7 to Friday, August 11, and on Tuesday, August 15, 2017. During these overnight hours, the number of southbound lanes on the Bridge will be reduced to one lane and all southbound traffic will be diverted through toll booth number 8 at the far east side of the toll plaza.

The Merchant Road off-ramp (just south of the toll plaza) will be closed on Monday and Tuesday nights, August 7 and 8, only. Motorists needing access to Merchant Road or Lincoln Blvd will detour along the Presidio Parkway southbound to the Marina and then back on to the Presidio Parkway northbound to the Golden Gate Bridge east parking lot (last San Francisco exit).

During the nightly southbound lane reduction, Golden Gate Transit buses will be unable to serve the southbound toll plaza bus stop. Customers are directed to the nearest bus stop at Richardson Avenue at Francisco Street.

The Bridge roadway will be returned to the normal lane configuration each morning by 4:00AM. This pavement repair work is expected to be complete after the overnight work on Tuesday, August 15.
