Annual Girl Scouts Bridging Event Crosses Golden Gate Bridge East Sidewalk

Bridge Roadway Remains OPEN at ALL Times

8:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.: HEAVY Vehicle Traffic Expected at Bridge Parking Lots

8:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.: EXTREMELY HEAVY Pedestrian Traffic on East Sidewalk

West Sidewalk Remains OPEN to Bicyclists as Usual

On Saturday April 27, 2019, between approximately 8:00 a.m. and 2:30 p.m., as many as 7,000 Girl Scouts will participate in the annual Golden Gate Bridging event that includes a walk across the Golden Gate Bridge EAST sidewalk. The Bridge roadway will remain OPEN to traffic at all times.

During this time, visitors should expect heavy traffic at Golden Gate Bridge parking lots at both ends of the Bridge and extremely heavy pedestrian traffic on the east sidewalk. The west sidewalk will remain open to bicyclists only as usual.
