Weeknight Lane Closures

The Golden Gate Bridge will have overnight lane closures during the week to allow for Suicide Deterrent System construction. Bridge remains open to traffic at all times in both directions. Click here for closure details

GGB EAST & WEST SIDEWALKS NARROWED DURING CONSTRUCTION

Sections of the GGB east and west sidewalks are narrowed due to construction staging and storage related to the Suicide Deterrent Net work. The east sidewalk remains open in its entirety during regular hours; the west sidewalk is to open to cyclists after weekday business hours.

Cyclists and pedestrians should anticipate brief delays due to traffic control on the sidewalks as materials and equipment are moved into place to support the ongoing construction work.

4/12/2026 RIDER ALERT ROUTE 101 SERVICE TO SONOMA COUNTY

• Route 101 (Service between Novato and Santa Rosa is replaced by SMART at almost all times.)
• Express service between San Rafael Transit Center & San Francisco increases to every 15 minutes during peak hours, and every 30 minutes all day, roughly doubling previous service levels.
• Increased service between Novato & San Rafael. 3-4 more trips during morning and evening peak hours in both directions.
