General Program Information FAQs

A:

Customers are required to pay for parking when using either the Ferry Terminal lot or the overflow lot (at 300 Larkspur Landing Circle, former Marin Airporter lot) between the weekday hours of 5:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. Fees are not required on weekends and some holidays (New Year’s, Presidents’, Memorial, Independence, Labor, Thanksgiving, and Christmas days).

A:

Parkmobile is the system we use to collect daily parking and monthly permit fees. Note: The Parkmobile systems for paying the daily fee and purchasing the monthly permit and accounts created in each are completely separate.

Parkmobile is a leading provider of integrated parking and payment systems, and has been validated compliant as a Level 1 Service Provider by the Payment Card Industry Security Standards Council.

Yes, all spaces in the Larkspur Terminal lot and the overflow lot (at 300 Larkspur Landing Circle, former Marin Airporter lot) are subject to the parking fee, including customers using the HOV spaces with a disabled placard (note: clean air vehicles may use HOV spaces only if there are 2 passengers in vehicle). Motorcycles may only park in designaged motorcycle spaces. Violators are subject to tow.

Yes, all vehicles are subject to the parking fee. There are no exceptions.

With special interest license plates, you should omit all images and graphics and use just the alphanumeric characters of the license plate.

If your parking benefit comes in the form of paper checks or vouchers, these must be submitted via mail to pay for your 30-Day parking permit (paper vouchers are not valid for Single Day parking fee). Mail paper voucher(s), along with your name, address, email address, and phone number, to:

Only one license plate is allowed per permit. If you need to park a different vehicle in the Larkspur Ferry Terminal parking lot, you can purchase a Single Day parking fee in zone 111 or purchase a separate 30-Day permit in zone 114 for that vehicle.

The parking system is all electronic. You do not have to place any placards or receipts in your windshield or on your dash.

Yes. If your car is parked in either the Terminal lot or the overflow lot (at 300 Larkspur Landing Circle, former Marin Airporter lot) at any time between 5:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m, you are responsible for the parking fee for that calendar day.

Yes. Daily parking fees are for calendar days and not for a 24-hour period. If you are parked in either the Terminal lot or the overflow lot (at 300 Larkspur Landing Circle, former Marin Airporter lot) overnight, you are responsible for paying the fee for both days

No. Vehicles may not be parked continuously for more than 24 hours. This also applies to customers with monthly permits. Vehicles must vacate the parking lot within 24 hours. Overnight parking will be enforced. Violators are subject to ticketing and towing.

For Single Day parking fees, Visa, Mastercard, Discover, PayPal, ParkMobile Wallet, non-pin debit cards, and employer-sponsored parking benefit debit cards (for example, WageWorks, Commuter Check, etc.) are acceptable forms of payment. Employer-sponsored parking benefits in the form of paper checks or vouchers are not accepted for Single Day parking fees.

For 30-Day permits, Visa, Mastercard, Discover, non-pin debit cards, employer-sponsored parking benefit debit cards and vouchers (for example, WageWorks, Commuter Check, etc.) are acceptable forms of payment.

Use your temporary license plate number or the last four digits of your VIN (Vehicle Identification Number) until you receive your permanent license plates. After receiving your license plates, you are responsible for updating your ParkMobile account. Contact ParkMobile Member Services for support at 1-877-727-5718.

No. Neither the Terminal lot nor the overflow lot can accommodate recreational vehicles.

30-Day Parking Permits FAQs

No. 30-Day permit holders are not guaranteed a space. All parking is available on a first-come, first-served basis. If the Larkspur Terminal lot is full, customers may park in the overflow lot located across the street at 300 Larkspur Landing Circle (former Marin Airporter).

No. 30-Day permits begin when you activate the permit and allow you to park for 30 consecutive days. Vehicles may not be parked continuously in the lot for more than 24 hours. You can check the remaining days left in your active session on your permit in the app or by logging into your account.

Yes, you can use the same account. Be sure to change the zone to 114 for a 30-Day permit.

No, you will need to start a new permit when your previous 30-Day permit is complete. You can check how many days are left in your active parking session and set yourself a reminder.

Yes. You may buy permits for two months (current and subsequent months). See question above about automatically renewing and/or paying for your monthly permit. When purchasing a monthly permit for the current month, please be sure to select the current month as the default is always the next month.

If you receive a parking citation for not paying the daily parking fee or having a valid monthly permit, the fine is $45. Yes, you will need to pay the fine. There is no retroactivity when purchasing a 30-Day permit.

Note: the Larkspur Ferry Terminal employee parking lot is for employees only. Unauthorized vehicles parked in this lot will be subject to tow.

Alternatives to Single-occupant Driving to the Larkspur Terminal FAQs

A:

There are alternates to driving to the Larkspur Ferry Terminal:

  • See Marin Transit Routes 17, 29, and 228. Check timetables carefully since trips may not be timed to coincide with the Ferry schedules.
  • See SMART schedules for service to the Larkspur Station, located about a 15-minute walk from the Larkspur Ferry Terminal.
  • Bicycles are welcome on board all GGF vessels on a first-come, first-served basis. In addition, the Larkspur Terminal has bike parking for up 140 bikes, including 80 secure bike spaces inside the paid waiting area and 60 bike spaces outside the waiting area. Customers wishing to share the cost of parking have these options:

  • You can carpool. Carpool spaces at the Larkspur Ferry Terminal are located in Rows F and G and along the inner perimeter lane adjacent to motorcycle parking. A carpool is defined as a driver and at least 1 passenger. These spaces are subject to the parking fee.
  • 511 RideMatch matches drivers and riders to share rides and share the cost. It's easy to use. Learn more at 511's RideMatch site.
  • Other rideshare services like Lyft, Lyft Line, and Uber connect drivers with riders, sometimes even connecting a rider with other riders going the same route or to the same location.
