Golden Gate Bridge Toll Plaza Repaving Begins August 7
Beginning Monday, August 14, 2023, some vehicle travel lanes at the Golden Gate Bridge toll plaza will be closed for roadway work and repaving. Traffic on the Bridge will remain open in both directions, but drivers should expect delays while the lane closures are in effect.
To minimize travel impacts, most toll plaza lane closures are being coordinated with regular overnight lane closures across the Bridge for the construction of the Suicide Deterrent System. Two daytime lane closures are scheduled for August 28 & 29, 2023.
Traffic control and signage will be in place during toll plaza roadway construction. Drivers should plan to slow down and proceed with caution around work areas during the lane closures.
Toll plaza lane closures are scheduled for the following dates and times in August:
- Monday, August 14 through Thursday, August 17: southbound lane closures from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.
- Monday, August 21 through Wednesday, August 23: northbound lane closures from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m.
- Monday, August 28 and Tuesday, August 29: southbound lane closures from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. (*daytime closures)
