Golden Gate Transit Announces Bus Service Adjustments

Effective Sunday, March 14 and Monday, March 15, 2010

Commute & Basic Service Changes | Marin Transit Local Service Changes

Golden Gate Transit (GGT) schedules are adjusted quarterly to improve system efficiency. See our Schedules Page for more info.

Routes 4, 22, 23, 26, 27, 29, 38, 40, 42, 44, 45, 49, 51, 52, 54, 56, 70, 72, 72F, 72X, 74, 76, 80, 101 will be adjusted up to 7 minutes to improve connections and running times.

Route 10	Strawberry-Marin City-Sausalito-San Francisco Basic Service: Northbound 7:34 pm weekday and 7:27 pm weekend trips canceled due to low ridership.

Route 24	Ross Valley-San Francisco Commute Service: Southbound 8:40 am trip adjusted to operate 12 minutes earlier thru all timepoints.

Route 66	Muir Woods Shuttle Service: Weekend and holiday service begins May 1. Service extended to Sausalito Ferry from Memorial Day weekend to Labor Day.

Route 70	Novato-San Rafael-San Francisco Basic Service: Northbound 6:25 pm weekday trip canceled. Northbound 3:53 pm weekday trip added. Northbound 4:51 pm weekend trip added.

Route 72	Santa Rosa-Rohnert Park-Cotati-Petaluma-San Francisco Commute Service: Northbound 5:55 pm trip converted to Route 72F. No time or service revision change.

Route 73	Santa Rosa-Rohnert Park-Petaluma-San Francisco Civic Center Commute Service: Northbound schedules revised to improve spacing with Route 93.

Route 80	Santa Rosa-Rohnert Park-Cotati-Petaluma-Novato-San Rafael-Marin City-San Francisco Basic Service: Northbound 7:44 pm weekend trip to operate thru Sausalito with new departure time of 7:37 pm.

Route 93	GGB Toll Plaza-Van Ness Ave-San Francisco Civic Center: Northbound schedules revised to improve spacing with Route 73.

Marin Transit Local Bus Service Reductions

Due to declining revenues and increasing costs, Marin Transit will reduce local bus service. See below for an overview of these changes. Route 17	San Rafael-Strawberry-Mill Valley-Marin City: Four northbound and two southbound weekday trips canceled. One northbound Saturday trip canceled.

Route 19	Tiburon-Strawberry-Marin City: Four northbound and four southbound weekday trips canceled. Four northbound and four southbound weekend trips canceled.

Route 22	San Rafael-San Anselmo-Strawberry-Marin City-Sausalito: One northbound weekday and one northbound weekend trip canceled. The last northbound weekday trip has been realigned to serve Mill Valley, departing Sausalito at 10:37 pm.

Route 23	San Rafael-San Anselmo-Fairfax-Manor: Weekday service will be reduced to hourly service, but during peak times, half-hourly service will be provided by using Routes 22 and 29 as alternatives, depending on destination. Eastbound weekday trips will arrive at San Rafael Transit Center (SRTC) at :10 after the hour. Westbound weekday trips will depart from SRTC at :15 after the hour.

Route 29	San Rafael-Larkspur Landing-Marin General Hospital-College of Marin-San Anselmo-Fairfax-Manor: Most weekday trips extended to Fairfax/Manor.

Route 36	San Rafael-Canal-Marin City: Southbound weekday 5:24 pm trip will operate to SRTC only.

Route 45	Kaiser Hospital-Northgate Mall-Marin Civic Center-San Rafael: Three northbound and two southbound weekday trips canceled. One southbound Saturday trip canceled.

Route 49	Ignacio-Hamilton-Marin Civic Center-San Rafael: One northbound and one southbound weekday trip canceled. Weekday northbound trips will depart from SRTC at :15 after the hour. Weekday southbound trips will arrive at SRTC at :10 after the hour.

Route 51	San Marin-Novato-Novato Community Hospital-Vintage Oaks Shopping Center-Indian Valley College-Ignacio: One northbound and one southbound weekday trip canceled. Weekday northbound trips adjusted to operate 15 minutes later. Weekday southbound trips adjusted to operate 14 to 20 minutes later.

Route 52	Novato-Ignacio-San Rafael: Two southbound Saturday trips canceled. One southbound Sunday trip canceled. Two northbound weekend trips canceled. Weekday northbound trips will depart from SRTC :15 after the hour. Weekday southbound trips will arrive at SRTC :10 after the hour.
