Golden Gate Transit & Golden Gate Ferry ADD Service for Labor Day Weekend

On Labor Day Weekend, with the closure of the San Francisco-Oakland Bay Bridge coupled with the highly acclaimed Sausalito Art Festival, significant traffic congestion will occur on the Golden Gate Bridge and on U.S. Highway 101 between the Richmond Bridge and San Francisco. Added Golden Gate Transit and Golden Gate Ferry services will be provided:

East Bay to/from San Francisco

1)

Golden Gate Transit Route 42 will operate between two East Bay BART stations and the San Rafael Transit Center (SRTC) where connections can be made to other Golden Gate Transit routes to San Francisco or points as far north as Santa Rosa:

Westbound: El Cerrito/Del Norte & Richmond BART to SRTC, hourly 8:08 am to 1:08 am.

Eastbound: SRTC to Richmond/El Cerrito Del Norte BART, hourly 7 am to 10 pm.

Golden Gate Transit Route 42 service will also operate added direct service between El Cerrito/Del Norte and Richmond BART and the Larkspur Ferry Terminal as an alternate means to access San Francisco. See Larkspur-San Francisco Ferry Schedule

Drive to the Larkspur Ferry Terminal via the Richmond-San Rafael Bridge and catch the Golden Gate Larkspur Ferry to San Francisco. See Larkspur-San Francisco Ferry Schedule.

Limited direct ferry service will be available between the Golden Gate Larkspur Ferry Terminal and Sausalito Ferry Landing. Drive or take Route 42 to the Larkspur Terminal. See Larkspur-Sausalito Ferry Schedule


San Francisco to/from Sausalito & Sausalito Art Festival

Marin County to/from Sausalito & Sausalito Art Festival

Larkspur Ferry Terminal: 101 E. Sir Francis Drake Blvd. From East Bay take Route 42 or the RichmondÔÇôSan Rafael Bridge to Sir Francis Drake/101 south exit. Parking is free with 1500 parking spaces.
Sausalito Ferry Landing: Humboldt and Anchor. Paid parking in the area.
San Francisco Ferry Terminal: The Embarcadero at Market St., behind San Francisco Ferry Building. Paid parking in the area.

Golden Gate Transit Fares: Route 42 to/from East Bay via Larkspur Ferry to/from San Francisco

Discount programs apply for youth, seniors and persons with disabilities.

TO San Francisco using Route 42 and Larkspur Ferry

Adult cash fare from the East Bay on Route 42 to Larkspur Ferry and on to San Francisco is $7.10 paid when boarding the bus; passengers need to get a transfer to be able to board the Larkspur Ferry.

Passengers using TransLink will tag on & tag off on the Route 42 bus and then tag again to board the Larkspur Ferry to San Francisco. The combined TransLink fare is $7.33.

Passengers using a discount ticket book may use a Frequent Rider ticket or an East Bay-San Francisco (Zone 1) Ride Value ticket to board Route 42 to the Larkspur Ferry; asked the driver for a transfer to the ferry

FROM San Francisco using Larkspur Ferry to East Bay on Route 42

Adult cash fare from San Francisco to Larkspur Ferry on to East Bay on Route 42 is $7.10 paid when boarding the ferry; passengers need to get a transfer to be able to board the bus in Larkspur.
