July 1, Regional Golden Gate Transit and Golden Gate Ferry Fares Increase 5%

On Wednesday, July 1, 2009, regional Golden Gate Transit (GGT), Golden Gate Ferry (GGF) and regional paratransit fares will increase 5%. In addition, there will be several changes to the Fare Payment Options available to customers on local Marin Transit services as well as regional GGT services.

Cash Fares
Cash fares for youth (age 6 to 18), seniors (age 65+) and persons with disabilities continue to be 50% of the Adult Cash GGT bus fares.
Adult Cash GGT bus fares are increasing from 15 to 45 cents depending on travel origin and destination. Here are some examples of the July 1, 2009, fare increases:
Zone 2 to 1: Sausalito, Mill Valley, Tiburon to/from San Francisco: 20 cent increase from $3.75 to $3.95
Zone 3 to 1: San Rafael, Ross Valley to/from San Francisco: 25 cent increase from $4.55 to $4.80
Zone 4 to 1: Novato, Ignacio, San Marin to/from San Francisco: 30 cent increase from $5.55 to $5.85
Zone 5 to 1: Petaluma to/from San Francisco: 40 cent increase from $8.00 to $8.40
Zone 6 to 1: Santa Rosa to/from San Francisco: 45 cent increase from $8.80 to $ 9.25Local fare for travel within San Francisco or Sonoma counties: 15 cent increase from $3.30 to $3.45
San Francisco and Sonoma counties to/from East Bay: 35 cent increase from $6.95 to $7.30
Marin County to/from East Bay or within the East Bay: 20 cent increase from $3.75 to $3.95
20% Discount with TransLink or Value Cards on GGT buses
Regular riders receive a 20% discount off the adult cash fares when using TransLink or Value Cards; these fares rise from 16 to 36 cents. Examples of the July 1, 2009, fare increases:
Zone 2 to 1: Sausalito to/from San Francisco, East Bay to/from Marin: 16 cent increase from $3 to $3.16
Zone 3 to 1: San Rafael, Ross Valley to/from San Francisco: 20 cent increase from $3.64 to $3.84
Zone 4 to 1: Novato, Ignacio, San Marin to/from San Francisco: 24 cent increase from $4.44 to $4.68
Zone 5 to 1: Petaluma to/from San Francisco: 32 cent increase from $6.40 to $6.72
Zone 6 to 1: Santa Rosa to/from San Francisco: 36 cent increase from $7.04 to $ 7.40
