July 1, 2008, Regional Golden Gate Transit and Golden Gate Ferry Fares Increase by 5%
On Monday, July 1, 2008, regional Golden Gate Transit (GGT), Golden Gate Ferry (GGF) and regional paratransit fares will increase 5% as part of the five-year transit fare increase program approved by the Golden Gate Bridge, Highway and Transportation District’s (District) Board of Directors (Board) in March 2006. The 5% fare increases continue annually on July 1 through July 1, 2010. The new July 1 fare tables will be available in the Summer Edition of the Golden Gate Transit Bus and Ferry Transit Guide available on buses and ferries by early June 2008 or at www.goldengate.org by mid-June 2008.
Fares for local bus travel within Marin County are not impacted and remain as they are.
Golden Gate Transit Bus Fares
Cash Fares
Adult Cash Bus Fares rise from 15 to 40 cents depending on origin and destination. Here are some examples of the July 1 increases:
Sausalito, Mill Valley, Tiburon to/from San Francisco: rises from $3.60 to $3.75, or 15 cents
Marin County to/from East Bay or within the East Bay: rises from $3.60 to $3.75, or 15 centsWithin San Francisco or Sonoma County local fare: rises from $3.15 to $3.30, or 15 cents
San Rafael, Ross Valley to/from San Francisco: rises from $4.35 to $4.55, or 20 cents
Novato, Ignacio, San Marin to/from San Francisco: rises from $5.30 to $5.55, or 35 cents
Santa Rosa to/from Sausalito, Mill Valley, Tiburon: rises from $6.15 to $6.50, or 35 cents
San Francisco and Sonoma counties to/from East Bay: rise from $6.60 to $6.95, or 35 cents
Petaluma to/from San Francisco: rises from $7.60 to $8.00, or 40 cents
Santa Rosa to/from San Francisco: rises from $8.40 to $8.80, or 40 cents
Cash fares for youth (ages 6 to 18), seniors and persons with disabilities continue to be 50% of the adult cash fares.
TransLink and Ride Value Tickets offer 20% off Adult Cash Bus Fares
TransLink/Ride Value ticket discount fares rise from 12 to 32 cents depending on origin and destination.Here are some examples of the July 1 increases:
Sausalito to/from San Francisco, within East Bay, and East Bay-Marin: rises from $2.88 to $3.00, or 12 cents
San Rafael, Ross Valley to/from San Francisco: rises from $3.48 to $3.64, or 16 cents
Novato, Ignacio, San Marin to/from San Francisco: rises from $4.24 to $4.44, or 20 cents
Santa Rosa to/from Sausalito, Mill Valley, Tiburon: rises from $4.92 to $5.20, or 28 cents
East Bay-SF/East Bay-Sonoma: rises from $5.28 to $5.56, or 28 cents
Petaluma to/from San Francisco: rises from $6.08 to $6.40,or 32 cents
Santa Rosa to/from San Francisco: rises from $6.72 to $7.04, or 32 cents
