Ride Across the Golden Gate Bridge East Sidewalk

Be advised that to avoid delays of up to 15 minutes and the very narrow access through the construction zone (work being done by FHWA and NPS) at the intersection of Alexander and West Bunker (Danes) Rd, there is a suggested DETOUR to access the north entry point to the East Sidewalk (blue line in image below). Coming south from Sausalito, use EAST ROAD and travel past the Discovery Museum, USCG station, and the Fort Baker Fishing Pier onto Conzelman Road. Follow Conzelman uphill under the Marin Approach of the Golden Gate Bridge into a parking lot on the west side of the Bridge. Take the stairs and access-way under the Bridge structure to the east side to access to the East Sidewalk.

Park Your Bike in a Rack Inside SECURED Area at Larkspur Ferry Terminal

Larkspur Ferry: Most morning and afternoon Larkspur commute trips operate at capacity with respect to the numbers of bikes they can accommodate, making bike parking at the Larkspur Terminal a great alternative.

Cyclists who do not regularly commute on the ferry are encouraged to use bike racks at the Larkspur Terminal or ride to the Sausalito Ferry where as many as 200 bikes can be accommodated. At the Larkspur Terminal, we offer new racks located inside the secure paid waiting area that can accommodate up to 80 bikes. Another 30 racks located outside the paid waiting area can accommodate 60 bikes.

Sausalito Ferry: Up to about 200 bicycles (amount varies based on conditions and ridership) can be accommodated on the Spaulding vessel used for this route. Electric bicycles are not permitted. There are also several bike parking zones in downtown Sausalito very close to the Sausalito Ferry Landing.

All GGT buses can accommodate 2 or 3 bikes on a first come, first serve basis: 40-foot, Hybrid, and Articulated buses can accommodate 3 bikes on front-mounted racks; and 45-foot commuter MCI buses can accommodate 2 bikes in the luggage-bay racks.
