GGT’s Launches New Route 66 Serving Muir Woods

Summer Shuttle Service Provides Free Access to Muir Woods

Saturday, May 28, 2004, Golden Gate Transit (GGT) will begin operating a new FREE shuttle, Route 66, which will provide free shuttle service to Muir Woods through September 5, 2005 (Labor Day Weekend).  Shuttle buses will run every half-hour on weekends and holidays only between 9:30 am and 3:30 pm, with less frequent service after 3:30 pm with the last bus departing Muir Woods at 7:05 pm.   Route 66 Schedule

Route 66 shuttle buses will depart from two locations: the Marin City bus stop on Donahue Street at the Marin Gateway Shopping Center and the Manzanita Park-and-Ride lot at the Highway 101 and Shoreline Highway interchange.  GGT will use 30-foot clean diesel buses for the service.

The shuttle bus service is being provided as a demonstration project by the County of Marin through a federal grant.  The County of Marin has approved an agreement with GGT for the first season of the shuttle service.
