June 7th Marks Grand Opening of New Regional FasTrak Customer Service Center in San Francisco

On Tuesday, June 7, 2005, San Francisco Mayor Gavin Newsom attended at the ribbon cutting ceremony marking the Grand Opening of a new Bay Area Fastrak Customer Service Center (CSC) at 475 The Embarcadero at Broadway in San Francisco. Other featured speakers at the Grand Opening event included Tom Ammiano, San Francisco Supervisor, Metropolitan Transportation Commissioner (MTC) and Golden Gate Bridge, Highway and Transportation District (District) board member, Maureen Middlebrook, President, District Board of Directors, Jon Rubin, MTC Chair, and Bijan Sartipi, Caltrans District 4 Director and MTC Commissioner.

The new Bay Area FasTrak CSC combines two FasTrak service centers previously operated by Caltrans in Concord and the Golden Gate Bridge in Mill Valley (23 Reed Blvd) into one integrated regional operation serving all Bay Area FasTrak customers. The new Bay Area CSC is open weekday, 7 am to 7 pm, and Saturday, 9 am to 1 pm.

The newly merged Bay Area FasTrak CSC  offers improved customer service though its interactive FasTrak web site accessible through the Bay Area’s comprehensive travel guide website at www.511.org  or directly at www.bayareafastrak.org.

Not only can new customers sign up for FasTrak online now, but existing FasTrak customers can manage their accounts online by checking their account balance, viewing their statements, updating their account information, replenishing their account balances, and more.

The new toll free telephone number for the Bay Area FasTrak CSC is 1-877-BAY-TOLL (1-877-229-8655), and for out of state callers 415-486-TOLL (1-415-486-8655).

According to District Board President Middlebrook "We really believe that FasTrak is the greatest success we've ever had," On the Golden Gate Bridge, 70 percent of commuters use FasTrak during rush hour, while 37 percent of commuters use FasTrak during the same time on the Bay Bridge.
