NO Golden Gate Ferry Service on Friday, September 26, 2014, Due to One-Day Labor Strike

See Golden Gate Transit Trip Cancellations

Read the "Statement of the Board Regarding 2014 Negotiations."

A labor strike will halt all Golden Gate Ferry services on Friday, September 26, 2014. This includes Larkspur Ferry, Sausalito Ferry, and Giants Ferry service between Larkspur and AT&T Park for the Friday night baseball game. Ferry services will resume on Saturday morning, September 27, including the Giants Ferry departure at 11:20am.

This cancellation of service is the direct result of an announcement by the Marine Engineers Beneficial Association which represents our ferry captains. The strike leaves us without staff to operate our vessels.

For alternate service to San Francisco, ferry riders may choose to ride Golden Gate Transit bus service (see Bus Schedules page) or use various rideshare programs. Trip planning assistance is available by calling 511 (say "Golden Gate Transit," then "operator" to bypass recorded messages)/TDD 711. The Golden Gate Customer Service Center (open weekdays, 7am to 6pm) will have additional staff on hand to handle phone calls.

Customers holding Giants Ferry tickets for Friday, Sept. 26 will have their money refunded.

The Golden Gate Bridge, Highway and Transportation District General Manager, Denis Mulligan, will be available to answer questions from the press regarding the expected Union Coalition strike on Thursday, September 25 at 2:15 pm at the Larkspur Ferry Terminal.

Following the media availability, interested news crews may come aboard a Golden Gate Ferry to observe the District notifying our riders about the expected strike, through leaflets the crew will be distributing on each seat. The Ferry will remain docked for these activities for 15 minutes.
