GOLDEN GATE TRANSIT BUSES HAVE CAPACITYEvery effort will be made to maintain schedules on all Golden Gate Transit bus routes throughout the day. However, due to the Parade and increased traffic in and around the San Francisco Civic Center and Financial District areas, delays are anticipated, particularly on northbound afternoon commute trips. As necessary, Golden Gate Transit buses will detour around the Parade route (which starts at the foot of Market street and ends at the San Francisco Civic Center) during the duration of the Parade. During the Parade, GGT will be rerouting away from Mission Street, using Folsom inbound to Transbay Terminal, and Howard Street outbound. Customers will be directed to bus stops currently served by GGT on those particular streets. Customers in the Civic Center area (stops between 7th & Market and MacAllister & Polk) will be directed to the stop at Van Ness & Turk to board northbound buses. To access the Parade on Golden Gate Transit, check out our bus schedules. The best bet is to catch a Golden Gate Transit bus at one of the Highway 101 bus pads – the Route 101 and Route 70 are good options: Route 101 offers departures to San Francisco from Santa Rosa at 7:30 am and 8:30 am, arriving at the San Francisco Civic Center at 9:59 am and 10:59 am respectively, with stops in Rohnert Park, Cotati, Petaluma, Novato, San Rafael Transit Center, Spencer Ave. @ 101, Golden Gate Bridge, San Francisco Civic Center, and then Mission & 1st and ending at 8th and Folsom. For Route 101 trips LEAVING SAN FRANCISCO, check out the weekday schedules. Route 70 is a good option from the North Bay, including Novato and bus pads south of Novato, to access the San Francisco Civic Center. Check out the weekday schedules. GGT Fares For Golden Gate Transit BUS fares, visit our Fares page. GOLDEN GATE BRIDGE - Expect Delays as Traffic Volumes IncreaseExpect delays in both directions across the Golden Gate Bridge. For those driving into San Francisco, the Golden Gate Bridge will remain four (4) lanes SOUTH into San Francisco through 9:30 am, the time at which the Bridge is normally changed to three (3) lanes southbound and three (3) lanes northbound. Beginning at approximately 4 pm, the lane configuration will be changed to four (4) northbound and two (2) southbound. Consider Public Transit instead of driving: Golden Gate Ferry or Golden Gate Transit. Customer ServiceThe Golden Gate Customer Service Center is open weekdays, 7am to 6pm. The Center is located on Platform D at the San Rafael Transit Center (3rd & Hetherton Streets). Call 511 (say "Golden Gate Transit," then "operator" to bypass recorded messages)/TDD 711. |
