PUBLIC HEARING SET ON PROPOSAL TO INCREASE
GOLDEN GATE LARKSPUR FERRY SPECIAL EVENT
FARES TO SBC PARK

On Friday, January 14, 2005, the Golden Gate Bridge, Highway and Transportation District Board of Directors (Board) set a public hearing on Thursday, February 10, 2005, at 9:30 am to receive public comment on a proposal to increase the Golden Gate Larkspur Ferry Special Event Fare for travel between Larkspur Ferry Terminal (LFT) and SBC Park from the current one-way fare of $6.50 to $7.00. The public hearing will take place at Golden Gate Bridge Toll Plaza, Administration Building, Board Room.

According to Board policy, Special Event Ferry Fares are set at a level that assures full cost recovery. As the estimated costs to operate the SBC Park Special Event Ferry service will increase in 2005, a fare increase is proposed. It is estimated that approval of Special Event Fares at the “break-even ” level will generate revenue of approximately $510,000 in 2005.

Public comments may be submitted by February 10 as follows:
1) At the Public Hearing
2) Via email to publichearing@goldengate.org
3) Via fax to 415-923-0213
4) In writing to Secretary of the District, GGBHTD, P.O. Box 9000, Presidio Station, San Francisco, CA, 94129-0601.
