SAN FRANCISCO SUPERVISOR BEVAN DUFTY JOINS GOLDEN GATE BRIDGE, HIGHWAY AND TRANSPORTATION DISTRICT BOARD OF DIRECTORS
On January 14, 2005, San Francisco Supervisor Bevan Dufty took the oath of office joining the Board of Directors of the Golden Gate Bridge Highway and Transportation District as one of nine representatives of the City and County of San Francisco. Supervisor Dufty was appointed to this position by the San Francisco Board of Supervisors and replaces San Francisco Supervisor Alioto-Pier. Supervisor Dufty is currently Chair of the City Services Committee and is a member of the San Francisco County Transportation Authority (SFCTA) and is serving as Chair of the SFCTA Plans and Programs Committee. Dufty has served in a number of professional positions including as Former Director, Mayor's Office of Neighorhood Services, Mayor Willie L. Brown, Jr.; as former Senior Legislative Assistant to the late Congresswoman Shirley Chisholm (D-NY); Former Chief Legislative Assistant to the late Congressman Julian C. Dixon (D-CA); Former Manager, Federal Affairs, Los Angeles County Transportation Commission; and Former Legislative Aide to San Francisco Supervisor Susan Leal. He received his A.B. in Political Science from University of California, Berkeley, A.B. Political Science. |
