GOLDEN GATE TRANSIT ANNOUNCES ADJUSMTENT TO BUS SCHEDULES EFFECTIVE SUNDAY, DECEMBER 12, 2004

Four times a year Golden Gate Transit (GGT) makes adjustments to its bus schedules to improve operating efficiencies and cost effectiveness. The changes effective Sunday, December 12 are summarized below. The new schedules online are available on www.goldengate.org and, beginning November 30, 2004, customers may obtain a copy of the Winter 2004-2005 Bus and Ferry Transit Guide on buses.

Adjustments to Commute Routes to/from San Francisco

Route 4 (Mill Valley): Southbound 7:00 and 7:05 am trips will be combined due to low ridership. Northbound 3:31 pm trip will be added.

Route 18 (College of Marin, Larkspur, Corte Madera): Schedules will be adjusted one to five minutes later to improve connections and running times.

Route 24 (San Anselmo, Fairfax, Lagunitas): Schedules will be adjusted one to five minutes later to improve connections and running times.

Route 32 (Shuttle from Peacock Gap to San Rafael Transit Center with connections to other GGT routes to San Francisco): Eastbound and westbound schedules modified.

Route 38 (Terra Linda, San Rafael): Last northbound trip departing San Francisco at 5:58 pm will be canceled due to low ridership. Schedules will be adjusted one to five minutes to improve connections and running times.

Route 44 (Marinwood, Lucas Valley, San Rafael Transit Center): All northbound trips will operate one to four minutes later through all stops.

Route 54 (San Marin, Novato): Northbound trips departing San Francisco at 5:22 pm will depart twelve minutes LATER at 5:34 pm and the 5:54 pm will depart ten minutes later at 6:04 pm.

Route 58 (Novato, Ignacio, Hamilton): Service will be extended into Hamilton Field, with NEW STOPS at Hamilton Parkway & Nave Drive, Hamilton Parkway & Chapel Hill Road, Hamilton Theater, and Main Gate Road & Martin Drive.

Route 72 (Santa Rosa, Rohnert Park, Cotati): Most schedules will be adjusted one to five minutes to improve connections and running times. In addition, the last southbound trip departing Santa Rosa GGT (Piner & Industrial) at 6:50 am will now depart twenty minutes earlier at 6:30 am.

Route 73 (Santa Rosa, Rohnert Park, Petaluma,): The northbound trip from San Francisco at 3:26 pm will be canceled due to low ridership. Southbound schedules will be adjusted five to fifteen minutes earlier to improve connections and running times.

Route 74 (Petaluma): Schedules will be adjusted one to five minutes earlier to improve connections and running times.

Route 76 (East Petaluma, San Francisco): Schedules will be adjusted one to five minutes to improve connections and running times.

Adjustments to Basic Service Routes

Route 10 (Marin City, Sausalito, San Francisco): First two weekday southbound trips extended to serve Mission & Fremont.

Routes 70/71/80 (Santa Rosa, Rohnert Park, Cotati, Petaluma, Novato, San Rafael, Marin City): For Routes 70 and 80, schedules will be adjusted one to five minutes to improve connections and running times. For Route 71, (Marin City, Novato) southbound Saturday trips will be extended to Marin City, instead of terminating in San Rafael.

Adjustments to Marin Local Routes

Route 22 (San Rafael, San Anselmo, Ross, College of Marin, Larkspur, Corte Madera, Marin City, Sausalito): Southbound weekday trip will be added at 7:22 am with service to College of Marin only.

Route 36 (Marin City, San Rafael, Canal Area): Last two trips to Canal will be canceled due to low ridership. Schedules will be adjusted one to five minutes to improve connections and running times.

Route 53 (San Marin/Novato): Due to construction completion, Route 53 will resume service on Grant Avenue and will no longer serve Vallejo Avenue.

Route 59 (Novato, Ignacio, Marinwood, San Rafael): Southbound 6:58 am trip to operate five minutes earlier from Novato.

Adjustments to Other Routes

Route 63 (Stinson Beach Parking Lot, Pan Toll Ranger Station, Bootjack, Tam Junction, Manzanita Park & Ride, Marin City): Service will be discontinued for the winter season.

Route 93 (Golden Gate Bridge Toll Plaza, San Francisco): Northbound service to Richardson Avenue, San Francisco or the Golden Gate Bridge Toll Plaza is free to persons showing the bus driver a valid GGT Ride Value Ticket Book. All others must pay the appropriate bus fare or present a valid transfer. Schedules will be adjusted one to five minutes earlier to improve connections and running times.
