GOLDEN GATE BRIDGE TOLL COLLECTOR RECOVERING

On Saturday evening April 9, 2005, at approximate 9:30 p.m., a stolen vehicle entered toll lane seven (7) in the Golden Gate Bridge toll plaza. A male suspect got out of the vehicle and shot and wounded the female Golden Gate Bridge toll collector. The suspect was pursued by a Golden Gate Bridge security officer as the suspect ran south of the toll plaza. The suspect was shot by the Golden Gate Bridge security officer and taken into custody by US Park Police. Both the toll collector and the suspect were taken to San Francisco General Hospital.

This matter is under investigation by the San Francisco Police Department (SFPD). The Golden Gate Bridge toll collector is now recovering and is now in stable condition. Our entire organization is focused on her health and well-being.
