PRESIDIO 10 RACE CROSSES BOTH SIDEWALKS OF THE GOLDEN GATE BRIDGE

SUNDAY MARCH 29, 2009, approx. 7:30 am to 10 am

The annual Presidio 10 Race, benefiting The Guardsmen and The Ashlyn Dyer Foundation, will take place on Sunday morning March 29, 2009, in The Presidio of San Francisco.

The run starts at 8 am from nearby Golden Gate National Recreation Area Crissy Field, Sports Basement, 610 Old Mason Street and heads directly to the WEST SIDEWALK of the Golden Gate Bridge. Runners then return south using the EAST SIDEWALK.

Due to the large numbers of race participants (up to 3,000), from approximately 7:30 am to about 10:00 am, the EAST and WEST SIDEWALKS WILL BE CLOSED to all other access including pedestrians and bicyclists.

During this time, bicyclists may use the free bike shuttle which will operate in both directions across the Bridge. The shuttle will stop in the clearly marked designated area SOUTHEAST parking lot and on the NORTH SIDE of the Bridge at the northbound Alexander Avenue off-ramp bus stop area.

Race Day Schedule of Events

NOTE ABOUT PARKING: The Sports Basement parking lot will be closed to participants on the day of the event. Please park in the Presidio Parade Grounds Parking Lot and walk to the Start/Finish area.
