Emerald Across the Bay 12K Crosses Golden Gate Bridge West Sidewalk
There Will Be NO Impact to Bridge Traffic
The Emerald Across the Bay 12K starts at East Fort Baker at 8:30 am on Sunday, March 15, 2009. There is no parking or drop off at the start; participants should ride shuttles to the start (see below).
From East Fort Baker, runners will cross the west sidewalk of the Golden Gate Bridge and continue on to Aquatic Park. For safety reasons, no dogs, baby strollers, baby joggers or skates are allowed on the course or on the shuttle buses.
The Bridge’s west sidewalk will be closed to all bicyclists from about 6:45 am to 9:45 am. Bicyclists will be redirected to share the east sidewalk with pedestrians during this time.
Bus Shuttles to the Start at Fort Baker
FROM SAN FRANCISCO: Buses leave from Aquatic Park beginning at 6:30 am. Participants must arrive by 8 am with a bib number to get on the shuttle bus. There are no post-race shuttles.
FROM SAUSALITO: Buses leave from downtown Sausalito at Bridgeway & Princess between 7 am and 8 am. Participants must have a bib number to get on the shuttle bus. There are no post-race shuttles.
