- Replaced all fluorescent light fixtures saving 40% in energy consumption
- Replaced heating, ventilation and air condition (HVAC) units with more energy efficient units
- Replaced windows with tint glazing, maintaining comfortable working temperatures and reducing energy consumption
- Installed timers on gas heaters
- Replaced all Bridge toll plaza signal lights, emergency stop lights and crossing ligths with light-emitting diodes (LEDs)
- Currently testing the use of recycled vegetable oil as an alternative fuel source for the Bridge's Cushman maintenance vehicles. Early testing is showing great promise for this alternative fuel source
- Using modern virtualization and de-duplication technology to reduce Data Center energy used by servers and data backup by 80%
