INDUSTRY REVIEW RELATIVE TO THE GGBHTD’SAUTOMATED FARE COLLECTION SYSTEM PROJECT |
|
The Golden Gate Bridge, Highway and Transportation District (GGBHTD) – Ferry Division has begun a project to automate fare payment, collection, and reservations for travel on the District’s San Francisco Bay ferries. The project scope includes the design, manufacture, testing, and installation of fare gates, stand alone validators, ticket vending machines, point of sale system, reservations system, and central data collection system.
Technical Specifications that will be used to procure the new electronic fare collection and access control system are now available in DRAFT form for Industry Review and comment. It has been found that by giving suppliers the opportunity to review project specifications prior to the release of the Request for Proposal, procurement delays resulting from questions and confusion about the project can be avoided.
At this time GGBHTD invites suppliers interested in bidding on the new system to review and comment on the contents of the specifications. GGBHTD asks that comments be documented and submitted using the attached comment form. GGBHTD reserves the right to adopt none, some, or all of the comments received. GGBHTD has no plans to respond separately to comments and questions received. In order to insure that all questions and comments are considered, comment forms should be returned by January 8, 2008, to the following address:
Golden Gate Bridge, Highway and Transportation District
101 East Sir Francis Drake Boulevard
Larkspur, CA 94939Attn: Mr. Jeff Kellogg
This in NOT a request for proposal, bid, qualifications, or quotation. Suppliers do not need to respond to this Industry Review in order to submit a proposal at a later date.
