NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
TO RECEIVE PUBLIC COMMENT ON
PROPOSED FY 16/17 FARE PROGRAM

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Golden Gate Bridge, Highway and Transportation District (District) will hold a Public Hearing to receive public comment, as follows:

Thursday, February 25, 2016, at 9:30 a.m.
Board Room, Administration Building
Golden Gate Bridge Toll Plaza, San Francisco, CA

The District’s Board of Directors approved the 2014 Strategic Financial Plan (Plan), which has several initiatives to find new sources of revenue, to identify areas for cost savings, and to find ways in which the District might achieve greater efficiencies. The proposed FY 16/17 fare program addresses two board-adopted goals: 1) to adjust transit fares by 4% as a means of continuing transit services with an appropriate level of passenger support; and 2) to add approximately $1.5 million in new revenue over the one-year period to help address the District’s projected $34.9 million five-year financial shortfall.

The proposed 4% increase would be rounded to the nearest $0.25 and apply to all Golden Gate Ferry and Golden Gate Transit Bus fares, effective July 1, 2016, except for the ferry special event fare, which is recommended to take effect at the start of the baseball season in March 2016. The proposed increase to the ferry special event fare is $0.50, which is 4% rounded to the nearest $0.25.

Reports regarding these proposals may be obtained from the Secretary of the District, Golden Gate Bridge, Highway and Transportation District, P.O.
