NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Golden Gate Bridge, Highway and Transportation District (District) will hold a Public Hearing on Thursday, March 21, 2013, at 9:30 a.m., in the Board Room, Administration Building, Golden Gate Bridge Toll Plaza, San Francisco, CA, to receive public comment on a determination to set the maximum safe speed at the Golden Gate Bridge Toll Plaza.

As part of the conversion to All Electronic Tolling, the District is considering increasing the maximum speed limit at the Toll Plaza. The maximum speed limit at the Toll Plaza specified in the District's Master Ordinance is 15 miles per hour. Pursuant to California Vehicle Code Section 22404 and California Streets and Highways Code Section 27174.1, the District will consider a proposal to increase the maximum speed to up to 25 miles per hour at specified lanes through the Toll Plaza in order to maximize safe and efficient use of All Electronic Tolling technology and methodology. The effective date of any new maximum speed is anticipated to be March 27, 2013.
