NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING

A PROPOSAL TO INCREASE SPECIAL EVENT BUS FARES

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Golden Gate Bridge, Highway and Transportation District (District) will hold a Public Hearing on Thursday, June 22, 2006, at 9:30 a.m., in the Board Room, Administration Building, Golden Gate Bridge Toll Plaza, San Francisco, CA, to receive public comment on a proposal to increase special event bus fares for bus service to Monster Park in San Francisco for FY 06/07, as follows:

ROUTE
CURRENT FARE
PROPOSED FARE
Round Trip to/from Larkspur Ferry Terminal
$16.00
$19.00
Round Trip to/from Santa Rosa Piner Terminal
$20.00
$23.00
Round Trip to/from Town of Sonoma
$22.00
$25.00

The fare increase, if approved by the Board of Directors, following both the public hearing and the presentation of staff report with responses to public comments to the Board on July 14, 2006, would become effective on August 1, 2006. By District policy, special event bus fares are set to cover direct operating costs of these discretionary, special services. The new bus fares are proposed to be set at “breakeven” levels to provide sufficient fare revenues to cover operating costs of the services.

A staff report on this proposal will be available after June 15, 2006, and may be obtained from the Office of the Secretary of the District, Golden Gate Bridge, Highway and Transportation District, P.O. Box 9000, Presidio Station, San Francisco, CA, 94129-0601, or by using TDD California Relay Service, 800-735-2929 or at http://goldengate.org/board/2006/mtgs-public-h.php.

Public comments will be received at the public hearing, or may be presented in writing to the Secretary of the District at the above address or may be sent by e-mail to publichearing@goldengate.org, and should be submitted to the District no later than 4:30 p.m., on June 22, 2006.

The public hearing location is accessible to everyone. To request special assistance to enable persons with disabilities to participate at this public hearing, please call the Office of the Secretary of the District at 415-923-2223 two days before the hearing date.
