SUMMARY OF THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS

MEETING OF OCTOBER 14, 2005

 

1. Approved recognition of a new employee unit comprised of Bridge Sergeants to be represented by Operating Engineers, Local No. 3.
   
2. Authorized ratification of a Memorandum of Understanding with International Union of Operating Engineers, Local No. 3, representing Bridge Patrol Officers.
   
3. Authorized award of Contract No. 2006-BT-6, Luggage Bay Bicycle Racks, to Sportworks, as a sole source, for purchase of 54 MCI luggage bay bicycle racks, in an amount not to exceed $200,000, with the understanding that this project is 100% grant funded.
   
4. Granted authority to the General Manager to approve requests for special event ferry service to SBC Park, and amended Master Ordinance 2005 accordingly.
   
5. Authorized the exemption from tolls on the Golden Gate Bridge during commute hours for vehicles bearing a distinctive “Clean-Air Vehicle” decal issued by the State of California Department of Motor Vehicles, and amended Master Ordinance 2005 accordingly.
   
6. Authorized budget adjustment in the FY 05/06 Bridge, Bus, Ferry and District Operating Divisions’ Budgets in the total amount of $2,467,400, to correct the CalPERS pension rate.
   
7. Authorized implementation of a regional bus and ferry fare restructure program, effective December 11, 2005; and, amended Master Ordinance 2005 accordingly.
