NOTICE
OF PUBLIC HEARING
IMPLEMENTATION OF A FARE SURCHARGE FOR
EXTENDED INTER-COUNTY PARATRANSIT SERVICE
The Golden Gate Bridge, Highway and Transportation District will hold
a Public Hearing on Thursday, August 12, 2004, at 9:30 a.m.,
in the Board Room, Administration Building, Golden Gate Bridge Toll
Plaza, San Francisco, CA, for the purpose of receiving public
comment relative to the implementation of a fare surcharge of $0.50,
for Marin County extended inter-county paratransit service.
In recognition of the Districts limited transit financial resources,
the District proposes establishing a $0.50 fare surcharge for paratransit
trips that begin or end beyond three-quarters of a mile in Marin County
on either side of a non-commute fixed route bus or that is outside of
the comparable fixed route bus service hours, to maintain consistency
with paratransit fare policy recently established by the Marin County
Transit District.
A staff report on this proposal was presented to the Finance-Auditing
Committee on July 8, 2004. An additional staff report for the public
hearing will be available after August 6, 2004, and may be obtained

Public comments will be received at the Public Hearing or may be presented
