Ways to Open a License Plate Account

Whether your License Plate Account is tied to a credit card or CASH/Check/Money Order, once your account is opened, it can be easily monitored and updated online at www.bayareafastrak.org.

Using a Credit Card

Going to the Bay Area FasTrak website and using a Credit Card is the easiest way to open a License Plate Account. You “pay as you go” with your credit card being charged after each crossing. Be sure to have the following information ready: license plate number(s); make, model, year, and state of registration for each vehicle listed on your account (maximum of 5 per account); and valid credit card number, expiration date, and security code.

Using Cash, Check, Money Order

If you prefer to use Cash/Check/Money Order, to open and fund a License Plate Account, you must maintain a small toll balance equivalent to one toll payment (e.g. $6 for a two-axle vehicle). You must remember to add funds to maintain the required prepaid balance to avoid getting a Toll Invoice and possible Toll Violation.

You can add funds in person using CASH ONLY at a Cash Payment Location or in person using Cash/Check/Money Order (bring your Account number with you!) at the Bay Area FasTrak Customer Service Center, 375 Beale Street, San Francisco, CA 94105. Hours of Operation: Monday through Friday 8:30 am to 5:30 pm, Saturday 9:00 am to 1:00 pm. You can also mail a Check or Money Order to Bay Area FasTrak Customer Service Center, P.O. Box 26926, San Francisco, CA 94126. Be sure to include your License Plate Account number.
