Get a FasTrak Account Application
- Online: Complete the application online at www.bayareafastrak.org
- Online: Download and print the application at www.bayareafastrak.org
- By Phone: Toll free (877) BAY-TOLL (877-229-8655), outside California at 415-486-8655. Hours of Operation: Monday through Friday 8:30 am to 5:30 pm, Saturday 9:00 am to 1:00 pm.
- In Person: Bay Area FasTrak Customer Service Center, 475 The Embarcadero (at Broadway), San Francisco, CA. Hours of Operation: Monday through Friday 8:30 am to 5:30 pm, Saturday 9:00 am to 1:00 pm.
- Via Fax: Call toll free (877) BAY-TOLL (877-229-8655) and request that an application be faxed to you. Hours of Operation: Monday through Friday 8:30 am to 5:30 pm, Saturday 9:00 am to 1:00 pm.
Open a FasTrak Account using Cash Less ▲
When opening your account using cash, the initial required prepaid toll balance is $50 and the toll tag is provided for a $20 refundable deposit. Once you have your FasTrak application completed, to activate the account you must pay your initial prepaid toll balance of $50 in person with cash:
- In Person: Complete a FasTrak Account application and pay the initial prepaid balance using cash at the Bay Area FasTrak Customer Service Center, 475 The Embarcadero (at Broadway), San Francisco, CA; Hours of Operation: Monday through Friday 8:30 am to 5:30 pm, Saturday 9 am to 1 pm.
- In Person: Cash-paying customers may also obtain a FasTrak toll tag at a number of Bay Area retail locations such as Safeway and Costco. Toll tags are available for $5 and are pre-loaded with a $5 prepaid toll balance. Once you have the toll tag, you must either open a new FasTrak Account or add the toll tag to an existing FasTrak Account either Online: www.bayareafastrak.org or In Person: Bay Area FasTrak Customer Service Center, 475 The Embarcadero (at Broadway), San Francisco, CA; Hours of Operation: Monday through Friday 8:30 am to 5:30 pm, Saturday 9 am to 1 pm.
Replenish a FasTrak Account using Cash
You are responsible for funding (or replenishing) your FasTrak Account whenever the prepaid toll balance falls below $30. The driver feedback display located in the toll lanes will read “Low Bal” as a reminder that it is time to add funds to your account. To replenish your FasTrak Account using CASH, you must do so in person. Please do not mail cash.

To keep your FasTrak Account current and in good standing, please be sure to update your License Plate Account with any changes to your license plate number to avoid receiving Toll Invoices or Toll Violations. Once your FasTrak Account is opened, you can easily monitor and update it online at www.bayareafastrak.org. Your Account Number and PIN are required to create a Username and Password for online access.
