Public Workshop Planned to Discuss Elimination of Route 72F

Golden Gate Transit staff will hold a Public Workshop on Wednesday, November 16 from 6 pm to 8pm to discuss the elimination of Route 72F, effective March 2012, due to low ridership. At the workshop, staff will discuss transit alternatives for affected customers. The workshop will take place at Beverly C. Wilson Hall at the Petaluma Fairgrounds in Petaluma.
These changes include the elimination of one southbound trip (departing 6:10 am from Piner & Industrial in Santa Rosa) and one northbound trip (departing 5:10 pm from SF Financial District) and the conversion of one southbound trip (departing 5:01 am from Piner & Industrial in Santa Rosa) and one northbound trip (departing 6:05 pm from SF Financial District) to Route 72 trips.

History of Route 72F

Route 72F introduced as a demonstration route to boost ridership in Cotati, with two southbound and two northbound trips serving park-and-ride lots in Rohnert Park, Cotati, and Petaluma. Route 72F buses assigned high-capacity MCI coaches equipped with free Wi-Fi.
