NO BUS STRIKE: GOLDEN GATE TRANSIT STRIKE AVERTED

The Golden Gate Bridge, Highway and Transportation District has just reached a tentative agreement with the Union Coalition, including the Teamsters who called the strike. The tentative agreement means there will be NO BUS STRIKE on Friday, October 17th, 2014.

Late last week, when negotiations seemed to be stalled, the District reached out to Governor Jerry Brown’s office for assistance. The District is grateful for the help provided by the Governor’s office.

The terms of the tentative agreement are confidential at this juncture. The agreement must first be ratified by the union members, and will then be presented to the District’s Board for approval on Friday, October 24th. At that point, the details of the agreement will be made available to all interested parties.

A Bridge District representative will be available for interviews at the Golden Gate Bridge District Toll Plaza Administration Building, at the South end of the Bridge.
