PUBLIC HEARING SET TO DISCUSS ESTABLISHING
SPECIAL EVENT FERRY FARE
FOR SERVICE BETWEEN LARKSPUR FERRY TERMINAL
AND SAUSALITO FERRY LANDING

The Golden Gate Bridge, Highway and Transportation District (District) Board of Directors (Board) will hold a Public Hearing on Friday, July 27, 2007, at 10:00 am, in the Board Room, Administration Building, Toll Plaza, Golden Gate Bridge to receive public comment on a proposal to establish a round-trip special event ferry fare of $7.00 for ferry service between the Larkspur Ferry Terminal and the Sausalito Ferry Landing.

It is currently planned that this service route will operate as special event service over the 2007 Labor Day weekend during the closure of the Bay Bridge to assist in delivery customers from both Larkspur and San Francisco to Sausalito.

By Board policy, special event fares are set to cover direct operating costs of these discretionary, special services. The new fare is proposed to be set at “breakeven” levels, sufficient to cover operating costs through a combination of passenger fare revenues and other sources. The staff report on this topic will be posted at: http://www.goldengate.org/board/2007/mtgs-public-h.php.

Public comments will be received at the public hearing and may also be sent by e-mail to publichearing@goldengate.org. Written comments should be received no later than 4:30 p.m., on Thursday, July 26, 2007. To request special assistance due to a disability at this public hearing, please call the District Secretary’s Office at 415-923-2223, three days before the hearing date.
