Temporary Overflow Parking for Golden Gate Ferry Riders to SF Giants Games

Created Behind Marin Airporter Terminal

To provide temporary overflow parking spaces for customers riding Golden Gate Larkspur Ferry service to/from AT&T Park, the Golden Gate Bridge, Highway and Transportation District (District), the operator of Golden Gate Ferry, has added approximately 150 additional parking spaces behind the Marin Airporter Terminal at Larkspur Landing.

The additional temporary overflow parking is required for 14 day games during the 2006 season, as the Larkspur Ferry Terminal parking lot is full at the time of the departure for these games. In the past, temporary overflow parking was provided by the Ross Valley Sanitary District, located adjacent to the Larkspur Landing shopping center. This area is no longer available for use as a construction project is underway at the site.

The additional temporary overflow parking is located within the SMART railroad right-of-way, behind the Marin Airporter facility, under an agreement between the District and SMART that allows for temporary parking only until it interferes with an eventual bike path or train. The temporary overflow parking in no way interferes with any future plans formulated by SMART. The District is working to identify other ways to address the parking issue for day games at AT&T Park and plans to have other options available by the time the bike path or train is ready for implementation.
