PURCHASING GIANTS FERRY TICKETS & RESERVATIONS FOR 2012 SEASON

TBA: Giants Ferry Service to 2012 NLDS games

Read all about our Giants Ferry on our AT&T Park service page and find our complete schedule listed on our Giants Ferry calendar page!

All customers taking the Giants Ferry to a Giants home game must use a Clipper card or a Limited Use ticket to ride. Reservations are required to guarantee boarding. Make a reservation.

Step 1: Choose One of Two Payment Options

Fare Payment Option #1 = Use a Clipper Card (the card is free)
The most convenient way for baseball fans to ride the Giants Ferry is by using a Clipper card.

What is a Clipper card? The Clipper card fare payment system is used by the Golden Gate Ferry and Golden Gate Transit bus systems as well as other Bay Area transit systems such as BART, Muni, and AC Transit. Once customers obtain a free Clipper card, their fare is automatically deducted from their pre-paid e-cash balance when they ride transit. E-cash is the form of payment used to ride Golden Gate Ferry or Golden Gate Transit. Each customer must have their own Clipper card as cards may not be shared.

Where do I obtain my free Clipper card?

  1. Via ticket machines at the Golden Gate Ferry Terminals in Larkspur and San Francisco,
  2. Online at www.clippercard.com, or
  3. At Clipper card retail outlets located throughout the Golden Gate service area, including Golden Gate Customer Service Center located on Platform D of the GGT San Rafael Transit Center, and many Walgreens stores. Search for additional retail outlets offering free Clipper cards using your ZIP CODE at www.clippercard.com.

For customer convenience, it is highly recommended that you go online to www.clippercard.com and register your card for Auto-Load (a system that will link your card to one of your credit cards so there will always be value on the card).

Fare Payment Option #2 = Purchase Limited Use Ticket from Ticket Machines
Limited use tickets are ONLY available through ticket machines at the Golden Gate Ferry Terminals in Larkspur and San Francisco.

Ticket Machine

Under this option, customers are very strongly encouraged to purchase a round trip ticket if traveling to and from the ballpark. Limited use tickets are good for 90 days from the date of purchase.

Purchase instructions are posted on the ticket machines and take just a few simple steps as follows:

  • Press Button G = Tickets To & From San Francisco*
  • Press Button A = Adult (for each round trip ticket selected at G above)
  • Press Button J = PAY – with cash, debit, or credit

* There are NO discount fares available for persons with disabilities or youth available for the Giants Ferry service and only full-fare adult tickets are accepted on the Giants Ferry.

Note: Ticket machines are open during the following hours: Larkspur Ferry Terminal - Weekdays from 6am to 8:50pm and Weekends from 9am to 4:30pm; San Francisco Ferry Terminal - Weekdays from 6am to 9:35pm and Weekends from 9am to 7:30pm.

Step 2: Make a Reservation - Strongly Recommended

For guaranteed boarding at Larkspur and the ballpark in San Francisco, you must make an advance reservation on our online store (look for the red "Giants Reservations Ferry" flag). The online reservation costs $1 one-way, per passenger including adults, youth and children under 5 who continue to ride free (only two children free per ticketed adult).

Customers must print out reservation confirmation to bring with you for your trip(s) and present to the ferry attendant upon boarding.

Step 3: Arrive at Larkspur Terminal at least 30 Minutes Prior to Scheduled Departure Time

All passengers must arrive at the Larkspur Terminal at least 30 minutes prior to departure time and those with advanced reservations will be given priority boarding.

Additional Q & A:

Once I get my Clipper card, what do I do to ride the Giants Ferry?
During the boarding process, you simply “tag” your Clipper card at the card reader and your fare is automatically deducted from the card’s balance. Each customer will need to have his or her own Clipper card as cards may not be shared.

What happens if I don’t make a reservation?
Boarding will be first come, first serve. Without making an advance reservation, there is no guarantee that you will have a spot on the vessel.

Do children still ride for free on the Ferry?
Yes, children 5 years old and under may ride for free (limit 2 children per ticketed adult); however, we strongly recommend that all children have reservations ($1 one-way, per child). See Step #2 above.

What happens if I am already in San Francisco and I want to catch the Giants ferry home to Larkspur? What do I have to do in advance, if anything?
Purchase a Clipper Card or a one-way limited use Ferry Ticket from a ticket vending machine at the San Francisco Terminal. In addition, purchase a reservation online. See steps #1 and 2 above.

How far in advance of a game can I buy a limited use ticket? Not more than 90 days.

What other important information should I know before gameday? Be sure to read important parking notices, security advisories, etc., on our Giants Info page (http://goldengateferry.org/events/ATTParkSched.php).

Where can I see the Giants Ferry Schedule?
