FARES INCREASED FOR DIRECT SERVICE TO SBC PARK ON GOLDEN GATE LARKPSUR FERRY

Effective Tuesday, March 1, 2005, the one-way Golden Gate Larkspur Ferry fare for travel between Larkspur Ferry Terminal and SBC Park will be increased to $7.00 from the 2004 one-way fare of $6.50.

In accordance with Golden Gate Bridge, Highway and Transportation District Board policy, special event ferry fares are set to assure full cost recovery. As the costs to operate the SBC Park ferry service are projected to increase in 2005, a fare increase of .50 cents will attain full cost recovery level by generating approximately $510,000 in additional revenue.

The Board of Directors took this action at that their regularly scheduled meeting on February 25, 2005, following a public comment period which began on January 13, 2005, and ended with a public hearing on February 10, 2005. During this period, six public comments on the fare increase were received.
