On Wednesday morning, February 2, 2005, an incident occurred on a Golden Gate Transit Orion bus (Nos.1501 - 1580) involving the failure of the latch mechanism on the left side rear emergency exit window, causing injury to a passenger. Golden Gate Transit maintenance personnel have inspected all of these buses and have found no further defects of this nature. Golden Gate Transit will continue working with the bus and window manufacturer to determine why the failure occurred. We want to assure you that this was an isolated incident and that safety is of the utmost importance at Golden Gate Transit.
