Annual US Half Marathon Closes Golden Gate Bridge Sidewalks From 7 AM to 9 AM

Free Shuttle for Those Requiring Access Across the Bridge

On Sunday, November 7, 2010, the Annual US Half Marathon comes to San Francisco. The course crosses both of the Golden Gate Bridge sidewalks, between 7 am to 9 am, with racers traveling north on the east sidewalk and returning south on the west sidewalk. To accommodate race participants, both of the Golden Gate Bridge sidewalks will be closed on Sunday, November 7, 2010, from approximately 7 am to 9 am.

While the sidewalks are closed, bicyclists and pedestrians requiring access across the Golden Gate Bridge may ride the free shuttle service. Shuttle stops are located on both sides of the Bridge: the south side shuttle stop is in the southeast parking lot and the north side shuttle stop is along the northbound Alexander Avenue off-ramp bus stop. The Caltrans-operated Vista Point parking lot, located on the northeast side of the Bridge, will also be closed from approximately 6 am to 10 am.
