Mission 26: The Endeavour on its Way

The Endeavour is on its way to California. Flying across the country on the back of a specially modified Boeing 747 Shuttle Carrier Aircraft, Endeavour is now scheduled to arrive at LAX (weather permitting) Friday, September 21, 2012 at around 10:30 am or shortly after.

We (here at the GGB via our neighbors and friends at GGGNRA and Presidio) are now hearing that the Endeavour will be flying over and near the Golden Gate Bridge sometime starting 9:30am today.

The shuttle is scheduled to make two circles or loops around the Bay both of which included passing over the Golden Gate Bridge. They will be flying at about 1500 feet. The times are flexible, pending weather conditions and operational constraints.

Suggested viewing locations include: Bay Area Discovery Museum (north side of the Bridge) and Crissy Field.
