No Impacts to Traffic
Bikes and Pedestrians Remain on East Sidewalk

The runners participating in the Emerald 12K Across the Bay will head south across the WEST sidewalk of the Golden Gate Bridge on Sunday, March 18 between 8:30 am and 10:30 am.

The Golden Gate Bridge WEST sidewalk is currently CLOSED to use by bicycles during the normal use hours due to construction. The use of the west sidewalk for the Emerald 12K course is a onetime exception being made during the west sidewalk closure period. This onetime change in the race course is being made at considerable expense to the event organizer.

The Emerald 12K Across the Bay starts at East Fort Baker at 8:30 am on Sunday, March 18, 2012. From East Fort Baker, runners will cross the west sidewalk of the Golden Gate Bridge and continue on to Aquatic Park. There is no parking or drop off at the Fort Baker start; participants should ride shuttles to the start, learn about the race shuttles here:
