NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
TO RECEIVE PUBLIC COMMENT ON
PROPOSED CHANGES TO GOLDEN GATE TRANSIT ROUTE 70 AND THE REPLACEMENT OF ROUTE 10 WITH NEW ROUTE 30

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Golden Gate Bridge, Highway and Transportation District (District) will hold a Public Hearing to receive public comment, as follows:

Thursday, February 25, 2016, at 9:00 a.m.
Board Room, Administration Building
Golden Gate Bridge Toll Plaza, San Francisco, CA

The District’s Board of Directors approved the Strategic Vision for Golden Gate Transit that has several goals to increase efficiency in service delivery and grow ridership by effectively using existing resources, expanding service where warranted, and restructuring or eliminating inefficient service, with an overall aim of attracting new riders. Staff has identified a set of service changes to Routes 10 and 70 that addresses the goals of the Strategic Vision for consideration.

District staff proposes replacement of Route 10 with the new Route 30. Route 30 would have the same alignment as Route 10 from the Transbay Terminal in San Francisco to Donahue and Terners in Marin City. The route would continue from Marin City to the San Rafael Transit Center (SRTC), stopping at all Highway 101 bus pads en route. Service would operate daily every 60 minutes, with the span of service hours extended to incorporate Route 10, as well as all evening Route 70 trips that serve Bridgeway in Sausalito. Staff also proposes modifications to Route 70 so that all trips operate along Highway 101, serving the Spencer Avenue Bus Pad en route. Route 70 service would be reduced to every 60 minutes at all times. Currently, service operates every 30 to 60 minutes. A 30-minute frequency of service in the corridor with connections to SRTC would be offered, with the Route 30 and the Route 70 services combined. Staff recommends that the proposed service changes be made on a permanent basis and take effect June 12, 2016, to coincide with Marin Transit’s proposed changes to local bus service along Highway 101.

Reports regarding these proposals may be obtained from the Secretary of the District, Golden Gate Bridge, Highway and Transportation District, P.O.
