NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING

TO CONSIDER A PROPOSAL TO INCREASE
SPECIAL EVENT FERRY FARES TO AT&T PARK FOR 2008

 

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Golden Gate Bridge, Highway and Transportation District will hold a Public Hearing on Thursday, January 10, 2008, at 9:00 a.m., in the Board Room, Administration Building, Toll Plaza, Golden Gate Bridge, San Francisco, CA, to receive public comment on a proposal to increase the special event ferry fare between the Larkspur Ferry Terminal (LFT) and AT&T Park, as follows:

By policy, special event fares are set to generate sufficient passenger revenues to cover the cost of providing the service. Staff estimates that it will cost approximately $510,000 to operate special event ferry service to 80 Giants home games in 2008. Therefore, in keeping with the goal to set special event fares at “breakeven” levels, it is proposed to increase the special event ferry fare from $7.00 to $7.50.

Public comments will be received at the public hearing or may be presented in writing to the Secretary of the District at the above address. Comments may also be sent by e-mail to publichearing@goldengate.org. Written comments should be received no later than 4:30 p.m., January 10, 2008.
