Van Ness Avenue Bus Stops Consolidated in Preparation for SFMTA's Van Ness Improvement Project

On Saturday, June 4, 2016, some bus stops along Van Ness Avenue in San Francisco will be consolidated in preparation for SFMTA's Van Ness Improvement Project. This bus stop consolidation will help maintain traffic circulation and transit service reliability and efficiency.

The following Golden Gate Transit bus stops will be affected:

Northbound bus stop changes (pick-up ONLY):

  • Van Ness Ave farside Turk Street will MOVE ONE BLOCK to Van Ness Ave farside Eddy Street
  • Van Ness Ave farside Geary Blvd will MOVE ONE BLOCK to Van Ness Ave farside O'Farrell Street

Southbound bus stop changes (drop-off ONLY):

  • Van Ness Ave nearside Pacific Street will MOVE ONE BLOCK to Van Ness Ave farside Jackson Street
  • NEW stop at Van Ness Ave farside Eddy Street

Background

The Van Ness Improvement Project is a major civic improvement project on Van Ness Avenue from Aquatic Park to Mission Street, beginning construction this summer, bringing transportation upgrades, including San Francisco's first Bus Rapid Transit system, utility upgrades, and civic improvements.
