Golden Gate Transit and Golden Gate Ferry Fares
Increase by 5% July 1, 2005

On Friday, July 1, 2005 fares for riding Golden Gate Transit (GGT) bus, Golden Gate Ferry (GFF) GGT intercounty paratransit increase by 5% . The local fare, currently set at $2, for traveling on GGT buses within Marin County are set by the Marin County Transit District (MCTD) are not impacted by this fare increase.

Depending on the trip taken, the 5% fare increase means that regional GGT bus and GGF fares will increase between 5- and 35-cents and intercounty paratransit fares will increase 25- to 55-cents. Discounts programs remain effective based on new fares. Commuters receive 20% discount when using ticket books.

Discount ticket books for GGT and GGF with a June 30, 2005 expiration date will be accepted through July 31, 2005. Ticket books with the new July 1 fares are available now.

Youth continue to receive a 25% discount off the cash fare and seniors and persons with disabilities continue to receive a 50% discount off the cash fare.
