LANE & RAMP CLOSURES AT THE GOLDEN GATE BRIDGE

Starting tonight, we will have overnight lane closures on the Golden Gate Bridge in order to place new striping on the Bridge and just north of the Bridge. This work is weather dependent and will be postponed if the roadway is wet.

Tonight, Thursday, August 13, only one southbound lane will be open beginning at 9 pm and only one northbound lane will be open beginning at 11 pm. These will be the curb lanes, which are closest to the sidewalks. All lanes will be open to motorists by 5 am Friday morning.

Tomorrow, Friday, August 14, only one southbound lane will be open beginning at 10 pm and only one northbound lane will be open beginning at midnight. These will be the lanes closest to the median barrier. All lanes will be open to motorists by 7 am Saturday morning.

Also on Friday, August 14, there will be ramp closures at the north end of the Bridge. The Vista Point off- and on-ramps and the northbound Alexander Avenue off-ramp will close as early as 7 pm, and the southbound Alexander Avenue off- and on-ramps will close as early as 11 pm. Detour signs for these ramp closures will be in place and a changeable message sign (CMS)—located near Marin City—will notify southbound motorists of the Sausalito-Alexander Avenue southbound off-ramp closure and direct drivers to exit at Spencer Avenue, if needed.
