Update on Golden Gate Bus & Ferry Services

Golden Gate Bridge, Golden Gate Ferry and Golden Gate Transit services are operating as follows:
- Golden Gate Transit (as of January 4 at 4:20 pm)
- GGT expects to now operate about 90% of commute services tonight, including Routes 70, 80 and 93 service.
- GGT will definitely operate the FIRST and LAST northbound commute trips for ALL commute services from San Francisco to Marin and Sonoma County. These trips will depart as close to their scheduled time as possible. Customers should plan accordingly.
- Customers bound for Sonoma County should still consider getting on any GGT bus heading to Sonoma County to as close a location to their destination as possible and then arrange to be met.
- GGT has resumed Routes 71 and 80 services in both northbound and southbound directions.
- Local Marin bus service is being restored as drivers become available. Routes 22, 35/36 and 49/51 are operating.
- US Hwy 101 in San Rafael has opened.
- The Richmond-San Rafael Bridge has reopened. Service on Routes 40 and 42 will resume as soon as possible.

- Golden Gate Larkspur Ferry will operate the following modified schedule for the remainder of today:

As the Bridge is oriented north-south, the greatest concern is for sustained gusts of winds above 40 to 45 mph from the west or east. If wind speeds increase and it is deemed necessary, buffer lane(s) may be added between north and southbound traffic lanes. Current lane configuration is 3 northbound lanes, 2 southbound lanes and 1 buffer lane. For perspective, the Bridge has only been closed three times in 70 years due to high winds in the range of 65 to 70 mph.
