July 1 and July 2 — For the Afternoon Commute, the Golden Gate Bridge Lane Configuration will be 4 Northbound and 2 Southbound
With one of the very busiest weekends of the year coming up, we are anticipating even heavier northbound traffic in the northbound direction (out of San Francisco) tonight and tomorrow night. In light of this, the Golden Gate Bridge will be making the Bridge roadway configuration 4 lanes northbound and two lanes southbound at approximately 5:30 pm on July 1 and July 2. We apologize in advance for any inconvenience this may cause to southbound Bridge customers.
Afternoon Commute Roadway Configurations Beyond July 2
We have heard from a number of our northbound customers as to the long delays downstream on City streets and on Doyle Drive. Our plan is to meet with the Doyle Drive construction team and City traffic engineers to work toward developing an improved strategy that may lessen the delays on City Streets and Doyle Drive.
